Are You Willing?

Are you willing to let God have all the glory? As Christians we realize, or at least we should, that everything we do in life should be to the glory of God.  (1 Corinthians 10:31) tells us: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Oh, if we were only willing to follow God’s plan for our life – which is to glorify Him in all we do – I can only imagine how blessed we would be.

Not only that but have you ever considered how much God will use you to advance His kingdom here on earth. I just love how Pastor Warren Wiersbe put it when he said: “Daniel gave all the glory to God; he took none of it for himself. There is no limit to what God will do for the believer who will let God have all the glory.”1

Too often we try to take credit and apply the glory that is due to God alone to our account. The problem with this is that we forget that every blessing, every talent, and every gift we have is from our heavenly Father. We are just stewards of the precious things God has blessed us with and as such we should be like the twenty-four elders in (Revelation 4:9-11) where we read: “Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: ‘You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.’”

When we have this same attitude as those twenty-four elders, I concur with Pastor Wiersbe, that there is no limit as to how God will bless us and use us here on earth and reward us when we ascend to heaven.

My prayer for you, as well as for myself, is that we reflect on our great Creator and give Him all the glory – for He alone is worthy to receive our highest praises and all the glory.

In closing, may you take a moment to reflect on these amazing verses from (Revelation 5:11-13): “Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying: ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!’ Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’”

  1. Kenyon Ledford says:

When I became a Christian and people would request at church prayer for such and such I used to approach the people a week or so later and ask about the situation. When they said “Great, Praise God for all the prayers” I’d get a smug little smile and nod my head so they knew I WAS THE ONE PRAYING, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

I shared that at a prayer breakfast and one of the guys looked at me woefully: “The only guy I know who photobombs God” hahaha

    I’m learning, always learning
