Ray Comfort – Quotes to Make You Think – Part II

“Ponder this quote by John MacArthur until it is written in the corridors of your mind: “We need to adjust our presentation of the gospel. We cannot dismiss the fact that God hates sin and punishes sinners with eternal torment. How can we begin a gospel presentation by telling people on their way to hell that God has a wonderful plan for their lives?” It is true that God has a wonderful plan for their lives—but it is that they would repent and trust the Savior, and receive the righteousness of Christ.”1

“The biblical way to express God’s love to a sinner is to show him how great his sin is (using the Law—see Romans 7:13; Galatians 3:24), and then give him the incredible grace of God in Christ.”

“Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

“The more a nation gets into darkness, the more it’s going to hate the light. The more it’s going to run from the light. And we have a generation of people who have given themselves to darkness, and they’ve embraced atheism, because it gets them away from moral responsibility to God.”

“Everything good that we have comes from God—the rain, the sunshine, our health, our food, cute kittens, super-cute puppies, smiling babies, pure-white driven snow, deep-blue sea filled with tasty fish, cool water to drink, succulent fruit to eat, and fresh air to breathe: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (Jas. 1:17). However, instead of having a heartfelt thankfulness to God for all these undeserved blessings, this wicked world ignores God’s will, blasphemes His name, kills unborn children, fornicates, commits adultery, glorifies pornography, mocks the Word of God, promotes homosexuality, despises the gospel, and says that evolution gave us all the blessings of life. But the irony is that when tragedy strikes, they intuitively remember God and ask, “What have I done to deserve this?”

“Don’t listen to the enemy. The devil came to kill, steal and destroy (see John 10:10). All he offers is death. Instead, if you want to live, listen to the life-giving words of the Word of God.”

“When the biblical premise of man being evil by nature is forsaken, society begins to believe that a criminal isn’t really responsible for his crimes. People believe instead that societal conditions and life’s circumstances are responsible, so the criminal gets a slap on the hand for violent crime since evil is no longer called evil. The lawbreaker is deemed rather to be sick or insane, and he receives rehabilitative treatment rather than punishment.”

“The Bible says that it is through the fear of the Lord that men depart from sin (Proverbs 16:6). If they don’t fear God, they will be complacent about their eternal salvation (Matthew 10:28).”

“A man has missed the whole meaning of life if he has not entered into an active, living relationship with God through Christ.”

“Darwinian evolution is unscientific, unobservable, unbelievable, but understandable in a world that hates God.”

“If you are not concerned about your neighbor’s salvation, then I am concerned for yours.”

“Christianity doesn’t offer a smooth flight; it provides a safe landing. The promise of Jesus is not one of happiness, He promises righteousness.”

“This society in which we live is radically changing. What previous generations saw as evil is now embraced as being good. It is a dangerous and slippery slope upon which we stand when we reject what Solomon called the beginning of wisdom – the fear of God.”

“Never let the defeat of the past rob you of the success of your future.”

“Atheistic evolutionists believe that nothing created everything – a scientific impossibility. It couldn’t happen. So they redefine the word ‘nothing’ to mean ‘something,’ so that in their unthinking minds, they can justify their foolishness.”

“God’s standard of judgment goes down to the intents of the heart.”

“Man is unique in that, unlike animals, he knows he is going to die, and unlike animals he can do something about it.”

“Either there is a God or there isn’t. Both possibilities are frightening.”

“Only an unscientific ignoramus would hold to the thought that nothing created everything.”

  1. “Don’t listen to the enemy. The devil came to kill, steal and destroy (see John 10:10). All he offers is death. I steal it , if you want to live, listen to the life-giving words of the Word of God.”

Here are some of the “life-giving words of the Word of God.”

The Devil may have come to destroy but so did Jesus. I John 3:8-“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil”

At the time of His crucifixion, Jesus said, John 12:31-Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out.

The most quoted verse in the N.T.
He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.

He is undefeated. Eph. 1:20-22-He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, / far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. / And God put everything under His feet and made Him head over everything for the church.

He has all authority. Matt. 28:18-And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.“

The day is coming when God’s promise will transform the earth. Hab. 2:14-For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

Satan is not as big a problem as “ye of little faith.” The battle has been won. We are now in the mop-up stage of the Kingdom. Dan. 2:44- And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever
There are many more verses that declare Satan’s defeat and our victory, right now!
Praise the Lord for His victory!
