Evangelist Ray Comfort once said: “Every song has a composer, every book has an author, every car has a maker, every painting has a painter, and every building has a builder. So, it isn’t irrational to take this simple logic a little further and say that nature must have had a Maker. It would be irrational to believe that it made itself.”1
The irrationality of evolution is on full display when we look at its definition: “nobody times nothing equals everything.” Not only is this ridiculous but as Comfort adds: “It is embarrassingly unscientific to speak of anything creating itself from nothing.”2 And to take it one step further Darwinian evolution in reality is nothing more than secular religion masquerading as science and sadly leads only to insignificance and despair.
Not only is Darwinian evolution irrational and ridiculous but it is totally unscientific. Again, Comfort shares: “I think that the theory of evolution is the most unscientific, faith-based, fundamentally brainless idea that ever had the misfortune to come out of a human mind. To compare it to true science is a joke. There is nothing even slightly scientific about it.”3 My friends to believe in evolution takes far more faith than to believe in creation.
So, in order for evolutionists to justify their belief in their bankrupt theory they do a little slight of hand and redefine the word nothing. According to Comfort: “Atheistic evolutionists believe that nothing created everything – a scientific impossibility. It couldn’t happen. So, they redefine the word ‘nothing’ to mean ‘something,’ so that in their unthinking minds, they can justify their foolishness.”4
So where does this leave us? One final quote from Comfort helps us understand the reasoning behind the madness of the evolutionist: “Darwinian evolution is unscientific, unobservable, unbelievable, but understandable in a world that hates God.”5
When you love sin so much and don’t want to be accountable for it the sinner does the only rational think possible – he denies the existence of God and makes up this fantastic tall tale called Darwinian evolution. I was once in this camp but I praise God that one day He opened my blind eyes and exposed this irrational, unscientific, and deadly dangerous theory for what it really is – nonsense – and allowed the light of Jesus to shine through into my heart, mind, and soul!
