Evolution – It’s Just Plain Silly and an Insult to a Holy God

Who in the world would ever believe that nobody times nothing equals everything? Well, if you believe in the theory of evolution this is exactly what one must believe. According to Professor Louis Bounoure: “Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progress of science. It is useless.”1

Pastor John MacArthur adds the following insightful comment when referring to scientists and evolution: “Honest scientists must admit that all of life had to be designed by an immensely intelligent mind. The more science looks at life, the more complex it becomes. The human brain is far more complex than NASA’s space shuttle. The brain alone is made up of at least six million functioning parts. No one would imagine that the space shuttle evolved by chance from nothing. Why should we have such a view of life itself?”2 Dr. T. N. Tahmisian goes on to add: “Scientists who go about teaching that evolution is a fact of life are great con-men, and the story they are telling may be the greatest hoax ever. In explaining evolution, we do not have one iota of fact.”3

Not only is evolution unscientific, unobservable, and unbelievable, but it is downright silly. To think that infinitely complex human beings could evolve from inanimate matter, which in turn evolved from absolutely nothing is silly in the highest and in the words of Malcolm Muggeridge: “The theory of Evolution … will be one of the great jokes in the history books of the future. Posterity will marvel that so flimsy and dubious a hypothesis could be accepted with the incredible credulity it has.”4

But what is even worse than the silliness of the theory of evolution is that there are many Christians and scientists today that believe in both God and evolution. This group believes in the God of the Bible and that He used the process of evolution to bring about mankind. This belief system is called theistic evolution and is quite frankly the worst of both worlds and an afront to the majesty and omnipotence of our Holy God.

You see the idea that an infinitely all-powerful God needed to use chance, trial and error, and death, struggle, and survival of the fittest – the mechanisms of evolution – to create mankind goes contrary to everything we know about Jesus. Not to mention this goes against the clear teachings of the book of Genesis. For example, we know that God created man from the dust of the earth fully human and mature in age. We also know that there was no death up until the time man sinned – thus causing one of the key necessary elements of evolution to be invalidated. The Bible teaches that man came first and then death, while evolution says death came first and then man.

To sum up, evolution is a bankrupt silly theory that is totally unscientific in every way. Evangelist, Ray Comfort, states it well: “I think that the theory of evolution is the most unscientific, faith-based, fundamentally brainless idea that ever had the misfortune to come out of a human mind. To compare it to true science is a joke. There is nothing even slightly scientific about it.”5

In addition, for those Christians who believe that God used evolution to create man, I pray they reconsider, because to believe that God used blind random chance, death and struggle, and billions of years, to create man in His own image, makes Him look like the most inept God around.
