Important Quotes on Abortion

“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.”1 ~ Ronald Reagan

“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love but to use violence to get what they want.” ~ Mother Teresa

“By abortion the Mother does not learn to love, but kills her own child to solve her problems. And, by abortion, that father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. The father is likely to put other women to the same trouble. So, abortion leads to more abortion.” ~ Mother Teresa

“There is no longer serious doubt in my mind that human life exists from the very onset of pregnancy.” ~ Bernard Nathanson

“I frankly don’t care if you agree with my stand on abortion. I take that stand because no other stand is consistent with decent principles, and no other standard is consistent with the will of God.” ~ Alan Keyes

“Abortion … interferes with God’s plan – a plan He willed before He created the universe.” ~ Richard Halverson

“We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, killings, of wars, or of hatred…If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other?” ~ Mother Teresa

“Abortion is murder in the womb…A child is a gift of God. If you do not want him, give him to me.” ~ Mother Teresa

“In or out of marriage, abortion is not an individual choice. At a minimum, three lives are involved.” ~ Boyd K. Packer

“If the unborn is a human person, no justification for abortion is adequate.” ~ Greg Koukl

“Simple morality dictates that unless and until someone can prove the unborn human is not alive, we must give it the benefit of the doubt and assume it is (alive). And, thus, it should be entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” ~ Ronald Reagan

“If I know anything about the character of God after fifty years of ministry, I know that God hates abortion.” ~ R. C. Sproul

“There are two victims in every abortion: a dead baby and a dead conscience.” ~ Mother Teresa

“I do not believe the promises of the Declaration of Independence are just for the strong, the independent, the healthy.  They are for everyone-including unborn children.  We are a society with enough compassion and wealth and love to care for both mothers and their children, to seek the promise and potential in every life.” ~ George W. Bush

“Having worked as a labor and delivery nurse…I’ve seen ultrasounds…you know that those babies are real.” ~ Naomi Judd

“It is not a loss of inert, amorphous tissue, but of a growing being unique in history.” ~ Frederica Mathewes-Green

“…is it surprising that today we have become so morally blind (for wickedness blinds) that we save the baby whales at great cost, and murder millions of unborn children?” ~ Alice von Hildebrand

“To accept the fact that, after fertilization has taken place, a new human has come into being is no longer a matter of taste or opinion. The human nature of the human being from conception to old age is not a metaphysical conception. It is plain experimental evidence.” ~ Jerome Lejeune

“Abortion is an act of desperation. It’s an awful solution to a situation that God can work out for good through adoption.” ~ Bob Carlisle

“Statistics show that a soldier’s chances of survival in the front lines of combat are greater than the chances of an unborn child avoiding abortion. What should be the safest place to live in America – a mother’s womb – is now the most dangerous place.” ~ Randy Alcorn

“Can you picture a woman seeking counsel from Jesus Christ on what to do with an unwanted pregnancy? Can you picture Jesus Christ, the personification of gentleness, compassion and love, telling that woman that abortion would be the best course of action under her circumstances. And now just imagine Jesus Christ accompanying this frightened and confused woman, now twenty weeks along, to the abortion chamber? And finally, can you picture Jesus Christ standing by her side, gently holding her hand, and telling her everything will be OK, while the abortionist begins to tear away the baby’s tiny arms and legs from its body and then proceeds to crush the baby’s skull before he removes it from the womb and tosses it into a garbage pail? The mere thought of Jesus consenting to and participating in an abortion is impossible to imagine. I therefore ask anyone who identifies with the name of Christ to also identify with what he stands for. If Jesus came to help heal the sick, love the poor and help widows and orphans, don’t you think that he also would try to save the lives of our most precious and innocent members of society – the baby in the womb?”2 ~ Curt Blattman

  1. Janet Geisler says:

As a former nurse I disagree with pro life supporters that procedures that remove NON-VIABLE products of conception should be prohibited by the government . The same goes with ectopic pregnancies where the products of conception cannot develop without rupturing the fallopian tube. Doctors and patients always want assurance that the baby is not alive (ultrasound and blood tests). Some politicians worry that will be abused as an Avenue for abortion in unwanted pregnancies. That is as ridiculous as a doctor turning off a respirator on a patient presumed dead (there has to be flat EEG tests several days apart first) or a doctor terminating life because the cancer has spread. There are committees that review the cause of death in hospitals! Close abortion clinics that don’t have that over site.
