“Truth stands the test of time; lies are soon exposed.” (Proverbs 12:19 TLB)

In our society in America today truth is under assault. When asked if she could provide a definition for the word ‘woman’ during her recent Senate Judiciary confirmation hearings our newest Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson replied: “Can I provide a definition? No, I can’t.”1 When a society believes that all truth is relative, as woke America is increasingly becoming, alarm bells should be going off in the ears of every Christian. When believing in absolute truth, as Christians believe can be found in the Bible, is labeling believers as bigoted and intolerant, rest assured that more and more persecution is on the way. Standing up for truth has never been more unpopular in our society than today, but if we compromise away the truth of the gospel how will the lost ever be saved.

(Proverbs 12:19 TLB) tells us: “Truth stands the test of time; lies are soon exposed,” This can only happen when we take a firm stance on the side of biblical truth. Only when we shine the bright light of the gospel can we expose the darkness that is so prevalent in the hearts of mankind. As Christians we need more than ever to share the truth and pray for those we share it with. The only way to expose the lies and darkness of Satan is to contrast it with the brilliant light and truth of Jesus.

I pray that the following quotes will let you see how and why we must never negotiate away the absolute truth of the Bible. For in the final analysis the only hope for America is sharing the wonderful truth of the gospel!2

“At the end of his life Buddha said: ‘I am still searching for truth.’ This statement could be made by countless thousands of scientists, philosophers, and religious leaders throughout all history. However, Jesus Christ made the astounding claim: ‘I am . . . the truth’ [John 14:6]. He is the embodiment of all truth. The only answer to man’s search is found in Him.” ― Billy Graham
