40 Trillion Strong!

The latest estimates are that the human body consists of approximately 40 trillion cells. Each of these 40 trillion human cells are so vastly complex that entire books have been written to describe how they function. When Charles Darwin wrote his book, The Origin of Species, in 1859, he knew next to nothing about how fantastically complex the human cell was. All he knew back then was that the cell was a tiny blob of protoplasm. I am totally convinced that if he knew what science knows today about cellular biology he would have never proposed his theory of evolution; and for good reason.

When (Psalm 139:14) shares: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” the psalmist, David, also knew next to nothing about the human cell, but understood nonetheless that each human being is a masterpiece of the creative genius of God. Today, thanks to the advances in science, we now know that a human cell is so complex that it cries out for a divine Designer. The link below will share some of how a cell is constructed and operates.1 Rather then share how these 40 trillion miniature factories, within your body, speak of a Creator, and not some blind random chance occurrence process, may the following quotes give you a flavor of why you are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made.2

“Just one living cell in the human body is, more complex than New York City.” – Linus Pauling

“In private many scientists admit that science has no explanation for the beginning of life…Darwin never imagined the exquisitely profound complexity that exists even at the most basic levels of life.” – Michael Behe

“As if they had minds of their own, your new cells-some of them eventually reproducing in the womb at a rate of more than 100,000 per second-knew where to go and what to do in order to become each of your major organs. How did certain cells “know” to become heart cells, while others “knew” to become brain cells? There is no known material explanation for their goal-directedness.” – Frank Turek

“The existence of biological information in DNA also points toward a Creator. Each of our cells contains the precise assembly instructions for every protein out of which our bodies are made, all spelled out in a four-letter chemical alphabet. Nature can produce patterns, but whenever we see information – whether it’s in a book or a computer program – we know there’s intelligence behind it.” – Lee Strobel

“Scientists of Darwin’s day saw the cell as little more than a simple blob of protoplasm. They thought natural laws could perhaps create such a cell. But the science of today shows that the cell is a world of astonishing complexity containing all sorts of microscopic machinery and thousands of pages of genetic programming. If atheists could offer a naturalistic explanation for this, they would. Instead, they can do little more than belch insults or offer unsupported speculations that, even if true, do nothing to solve the problem.” – Frank Turek

“A single living cell is the most complex known machine in the universe, except, of course, for the life forms made up of numbers of cells.” – Jeffrey Russell

“Scientists have spent at least a century trying to create biological life from chemicals, yet they haven’t made even one DNA molecule. Since a cell’s energy, information storage, and metabolic machinery all depend on one another, the first cell could not have arisen through natural processes unless all three intricate systems sprang up at once. And besides that, body cells break down when they’re not part of a living being. The universal failure of people to make life highlights God as the source of all life (Psalm 36:9).” – Brian Thomas

“There’s more code and sophisticated nanomachinery in just one of your forty trillion cells than in your smartphone and probably every other gadget you own. If the code and nanomachinery in your smartphone requires intelligence, wouldn’t the far superior technology inside of you also require intelligence?”  – Frank Turek

  1. A quote from the devotion says, “Scientists have spent at least a century trying to create biological life from chemicals, yet they haven’t made even one DNA molecule.“
Apart from those have bent the knee to His Lordship, whom God has reconciled to Himself, mankind’s relationship to God is schizophrenic. In the presence of such powerful evidence like the human cell, let alone 40 trillion of them, he knows God exists but is driven to his acts of “suppression” of this knowledge because of the sin that causes him to be at war (enmity) with Him. Living this life of seeing and believing yet denying the truth, it’s God’s long-suffering grace that there aren’t more substance abusers and suicide victims than there are.
Darwin, living at a time without modern day technology to challenge his assumptions, is synonymous with the abortion industry. We now have 4D machines that show the prospective Mother exactly what’s (or who) is growing inside of her. “Follow the science,” it’s a game changer!
It’s also worthy of note that both industries, evolutionary research and Planned Parenthood, have a common beginning. The full title of Darwin’s book is “On the Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection, or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” He was a racist. Likewise, the founder of PP, Margaret Sanger, as a Nazi sympathizer, wanted to do her part in “purifying the race” by eliminating those who were not at the high end of the evolutionary scale, namely, Black babies. Her clinics were installed in mostly Black neighborhoods, which is still true to this day. The theory (evil) of evolution has provided cover for this murderous plot through the years, underscoring the original sin “to be like God,” while being sold as “healthcare.” That’s why scientists still work tirelessly to “create” life.
The miracle of the single cell to the planets above are constant witnesses to the Creator that will draw the elect of God to himself until His enemies are made His footstool. In the meantime, the fields are still “white unto harvest” but lack workers or in today’s vernacular, let’s “step up our game, people!” The old hymn says, “Rescue the perishing!” The author probably didn’t have aborted babies in mind when he penned those words.
