Benjamin Carson Quotes on God

Benjamin Solomon Carson Sr. is an American retired neurosurgeon and a former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development cabinet member under the Trump administration. Carson is considered a pioneer in the field of neurosurgery and became, at the time in 1984, at age 33, the youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery in the United States serving as the director of pediatric neurosurgery at the famed Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

Carson, one of the most prominent black conservatives in America, in addition to his medical career, ran for President of the United States in the 2016 Republican primaries. The recipient of over 60 honorary doctorate degrees, Carson also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States, in 2008.

A committed Christian, Carson, is always quick to acknowledge the God of the Bible as the key to all of his successes in life. Below are some of his most encouraging quotes on God that I pray will bless you as you walk with the Lord.1

“The most important thing for me is having a relationship with God. To know that the owner, the creator of the universe loves you, sent His Son to die for your sins; that’s very empowering. Knowing Him and knowing that He loves me gives me encouragement and confidence to move forward.”

“My mother told me if I work hard and I really believed in American principles and I believed in God, anything is possible. That’s why I’m not anxious to give away American values and principles for the sake of political correctness.”

“Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.”

“I always say if God didn’t allow any bad things to happen, we would already be in heaven. And we are not there. That’s where trust and faith comes in. You just say, ‘Lord, I don’t understand it. But one thing I do know is that you understand it and that you are in control and I trust you.’”

“I have to come to realize that God does not want to punish us, but rather, to fulfill our lives. God created us, loves us and wants to help us to realize our potential so that we can be useful to others.”

“Through hard work, perseverance and a faith in God, you can live your dreams.”

“When I look at the human brain I’m still in awe of it.”

“I’ve had experiences in my life that leave no doubt in my mind about the fact that God exists. I’m quite willing to debate people who don’t think so because I want them to explain to me how did our solar system get so organized and how is the universe so complex and yet well-organized that we can predict 70 years hence when a comet is coming?”

“When I treat other people with kindness and love, it is part of my way of paying my debt to God and the world for the privilege of living on this planet.”

“Do your best and let God do the rest.”

“Being a doctor at Johns Hopkins does not make me any better in God’s sight than the individual who has not had the opportunity to gain such an education but who still works hard.”

“My experience has confirmed the wisdom of so much of what the Bible teaches.”

“Evolution and creationism both require faith. It’s just a matter of where you choose to place that faith.”

“Secular progressivism, which attempts to remove God from the public square, is not consistent with the principles that established the USA.”

“The more I learn about the human body, our environment, and the universe, the more it increases my faith.”

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angles, but am not nice, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but am not nice, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but am not nice, I gain nothing.”

“I always pray for God’s guidance in my life and he always provides it. He opens the right doors he shuts the right doors. And I have tremendous faith in him. He just guided my career in an amazing way.”

“We are more than just flesh and bones. There’s a certain spiritual nature and something of the mind that we can’t measure. We can’t find it. With all our sophisticated equipment, we cannot monitor or define it, and yet it’s there.”

“I serve God, and my purpose is to please Him, and if God be for you, who can be against you?”

“In my own personal life, God plays a great role in the risk, because I pray before I go into the operating room for every case, and I ask him to give me wisdom, to help me to know what to do – and not only for operating, but for everything.”

“God has given to every one of us more than fourteen billion cells and connections in our brain. Now why would God give us such a complex organ system unless He expects us to use it?”

“We’ll always be safe in Jesus Christ if we place our faith in the Lord.”

“You can understand why I’m a believer. I have seen miracles.”

“My strong belief is that God created human beings and therefore he knows about every aspect of the human body. So, if I want to fix it, I just need to stay in harmony with Him.”

“I find the big bang, really quite fascinating. I mean, here you have all these highfalutin scientists and they’re saying it was this gigantic explosion and everything came into perfect order. Now these are the same scientists that go around touting the second law of thermodynamics, which is entropy, which says that things move toward a state of disorganization.”
