In yesterday’s devotion I made the following claim: I contend, that deep within the mysterious makeup of your original single cell at conception, you possessed more knowledge than all the accumulated knowledge of mankind from the history of its beginning until now. Not only that but as I hope to show in this devotion, you are the ultimate masterpiece of God’s wonderful creation!
A little biology
To say that the original single cell called, “You,” is one of the most amazing marvels of God’s creative genius would be an understatement. Biologically speaking this tiny fertilized egg cell is without a doubt evolution’s worst nightmare. For you see as vastly complex as this cell is, what it is able to accomplish in nine short months is impossible for humanity to ever comprehend; for only a God of infinite wisdom and creativity could build into its makeup what I am about to describe. Biologically, its transformation powers from single cell to adult human being are the stuff that science fiction writers can’t even imagine.
Deep within our first cell is a tiny nucleus that contains 46 chromosomes. And inside these chromosomes is where sheer magic, if I can use the word, takes place. For within the chromosomes are protein molecules called DNA which contain the programming instructions, preprogrammed, by the greatest intellect in the universe, to create a masterpiece of humanity called you! Evolutionists run into problems right from the very start, since they are incapable of explaining how something as complex as a human cell could evolve. And if they can’t explain how even a “simple” cell could evolve how in the world can we trust them to explain the most amazing transformation project known in the universe – the creation of You!
In our world today, people go to medical school and then take up hospital residency to learn about the different part of the body – like the eye, heart, and lungs. Yet our single original cell, with no education at all, knows more about these, and every other body part then all the great men of science combined, because you see that one cell created them all!
The eye
Take the eye for example. Mankind with all of its research and knowledge of the human eye still can’t make an eye. Yet our original single cell was preprogrammed to create two perfect human eyes, by transforming bits and pieces of nutrients from its mother into the gift of sight; when at the beginning no sight existed at all. If mankind, with all of its knowledge, can’t make a human eye, how in the world can blind chance – evolution – create one! For you see evolution is a fantasy theory that exists only in one’s imagination.
If you could take apart a human eye into all of its component parts and give them to our greatest eye doctors, they still couldn’t reconnect them and form a human eye. Yet our original single cell had no eye parts to start with yet within a few short months was able to take pieces of apples, potatoes, milk, etc., and create the finest camera device ever conceived of. Evolution, which is an accident based design system, can’t even create a single cell, let alone 30 trillion! Only an infinitely wise and powerful God can code our original DNA with the programming knowledge need to create You.
You are a masterpiece!
You today are a 30 trillion package of cells, each one more complex than New York City. And each cell communicates with its neighboring cells in a special kind of harmony that is a sight to behold. Imagine 30 trillion cells, each consisting of hundreds of different parts, each part performing many incredibly complex bio-chemical functions in mere nano seconds; and all in perfect harmony!
You are a masterpiece of engineering genius. But you are more than just mindless molecules – you have a soul and the ability to get to know your Creator. And I can’t think of a more awesome use of your 30 trillion cells than to glorify the One who made us, through our worship, praise, and adoration!
