God Cares for Me!

The idea that the Creator of the universe thought so highly of you that He decided to create you in His own image should hopefully help you to realize that God not only loves you greatly, but I believe, has a special plan for each one of us. And perhaps the main reason He created us in His own image is because He wanted to have a relationship with us and lavish us with His amazing love. And the sooner we process this incredible thought that God wants a relationship with us, the quicker we will be able to get lost in His love and realize that we are of infinite value to the Lord!

And as we enter into worshipping Jesus, which is a vital part of our relationship with God, we will be able to comprehend better just how much God loves us and begin to see how we fit in with God’s master plan. And what, you might ask, is God’s master plan? I believe it is to glorify Him in everything we do and to enjoy Him forever! Understanding why we were created is so important because it gives us deep meaning to know why God put us here in the first place. Sadly, non-Christians don’t know their purpose in life and that is why they try to fill the void in their hearts with everything except Jesus. As a result peace, joy, and meaning always seem to elude them.

However, Christians sometimes struggle and miss out on the peace and joy that they should be experiencing because they fail to grasp just how special they are to God by living too much in the past and fearing the future. Too often Christians buy the lies of our archenemy, the devil, instead of believing in the promises of God. When this happens we need to take time out and meditate on the Bible’s amazing promises and thank Jesus for our certain future. And when trials and suffering come our way we need to realize that they are often part of God’s divine plan, are only temporary, and provide us with an opportunity to accrue great riches in heaven.

I love how Pastor John Piper gives us the proper perspective on how to deal with anxiety: “Whenever your heart starts to be anxious about the future, preach to your heart and say, ‘Heart, who do you think you are to be afraid of the future and nullify the promise of God? No, heart, I will not exalt myself with anxiety. I will humble myself in peace and joy as I trust this precious and great promise of God – He cares for me.’”1

And just how does God show that He cares for us? Well, for starters when we invite Him into our heart, as Lord and Savior, He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He shows us from His Word that our sins are forgiven, thus guaranteeing us entrance into eternal life. He provides us, if we are reading the Bible daily, with fresh manna to nourish our souls. And if that were not enough, He literally has a myriad of precious thoughts toward me, for we read: “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand…” (Psalm 139:17-18).

Let’s face it not only does God care for you, He is plain crazy over you!
